On December 29, Mangani Nlandu and King Mukwalemsa filed a lawsuit against Advocate Condell Medical Center; Advocate Condell Physician Partners and their related corporate entities including Total Women’s Healthcare LLC; Midwest Anesthesia Partners LLC. They also filed suit against David Preskill, M.D. and Divyang R. Joshi, M.D., alleging the medical center and its medical staff failed to provide proper care while Nlandu was in their care delivering her child.
Nlandu and Mukwalemsa are represented by our Chicago medical malpractice attorneys at McNabola & Associates, LLC. Our client alleges Nlandu suffered a stroke that caused permanent brain injury, and other serious injuries while under the care of Advocate Condell Medical Center’s medical staff. Nlandu alleges Dr. Preskill was negligent because he failed to rule out preeclampsia, a dangerous pregnancy complication characterized by high blood pressure, failed to obtain an ultrasound, failed to treat her hypertension and failed to deliver her child in a timely fashion. Our client also alleges Joshi was among the medical staff who failed to identify and treat hypertension.
Our clients have requested a trial by jury. They seek compensation above $50,000, plus court costs for their injuries. At McNabola & Associates, LLC we have dedicated our practice to protecting the rights of those injured through negligence. Many Americans place their health in the hands of medical doctors, nurses and other staff trusting they will make the best decision possible but sometimes doctors fail to provide proper care, which can lead to injury and death.
